The Chenaniah Praise Dancers
The Chenaniah Praise Dancers are a group of four sisters: Ashanti, Tiffany, Briana, and Acacia. Ashanti serves as the choreographer, creating prophetic and life-changing routines. The group began dancing over 15 years ago in their home. They are members of RHEMI Church International, where their parents, Bishop Anthony and Pastor Carla Mays, serve as Senior Pastors.
The name Chenaniah, derived from 1 Chronicles 15:22, means “Strength of the Lord” and “God has Planted.” Their debut performance was at a service in appreciation of their Youth Pastor, intended to be a one-time event. However, they quickly became a full-time international ministry despite the sisters having no formal dance training.
Chenaniah Praise Dancers have made significant contributions to the Kingdom through various initiatives:
– **Chenaniah School of Dance**: Teaches dance, the ministry of dance, and choreography, culminating in a live showcase each semester.
– **Conference “Dancing with Authority” (DWA)**: Conducted nationally and internationally.
– **Hosting Events and Dance Extravaganzas**: Including outreach events where thousands have given their lives to Christ.
– **Television Show “It’s Time to Dance”**: Aired on the CTN Network.
– **Media Appearances**: Featured on TBN, BET, PAX TV, CTN, and The Word Network.
The group has authored two books:
– **”Dancing With Authority”**: A guide for dancers to be effective and authoritative through movement.
– **”Don’t Break the Rhythm”**: Chronicles their journey, struggles, and perseverance as a dance ministry.
Chenaniah has performed at numerous national and international events, conferences, and churches, often alongside prominent gospel artists and preachers. Notable appearances include:
– Bishop John Francis’s “Order My Steps & Prophetic Prayer Conference” (London & USA)
– Dr. Morris Cerullo World Conference
– Dr. Cindy Trimm’s Kingdom Summit
– CeCe Winans’s Always Sisters Conferences
– Bishop Vernon Lamb’s Conferences in Bermuda

They have ministered in Bermuda, Trinidad, Puerto Rico, London, Scotland, Bahamas, and Turks & Caicos. The sisters are also powerful speakers, teachers, and ministers of the Gospel, covering topics like “The Power of Movement,” “Entertainment vs. Ministry,” “Holiness is Still in Style,” “The Importance of the Anointing,” and “Worship is a Lifestyle.”
Internationally known as trailblazers for praise dance, Chenaniah is anointed and sanctified to destroy yokes and set captives free. They minister with passion, power, and synchronized movements, aiming to lead many to Christ “one dance at a time.” Their dances are seen as revelations rather than mere interpretations, inviting audiences into their personal worship experience. Once you witness their ministry, “you will never hear the song the same again.”
